The Greatest Show’s Almost A Go - How to Prepare

Atlanta Food & Wine Festival

September 11, 2024

Step right up, step right up! The greatest food & wine show in Atlanta is back for its 13th year!

From September 12, 2024, you’re in for a four-day journey filled with mouth-watering bites, refreshing sips, and memorable experiences at Atlanta's renowned food and wine celebration. With over 150 chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists, plus the famous Tasting Tents presented by Goya Foods, you’ll want to be fully prepared to make the most of it. Here’s a quick list to ensure you’re festival-ready:

1. Stay Hydrated

All that delectable food, cocktails, and wine can make it easy to forget to stay hydrated, but Icelandic, our Official Still Water Partner, is prepared to cool you down with every sip! It’s a hot September in Atlanta, so remember to grab your water bottle at stations found throughout the park!

2. Wear Sunscreen & Hats

Atlanta Food & Wine Festival’s Tasting Tents presented by Goya Foods are outdoors, and while there’s some shade, you'll likely spend a lot of time in the sun! Pack some sunscreen (at least SPF 30) and throw on a wide-brimmed hat to stay sun-safe while you enjoy the day.

3. Comfortable Clothing is a Must

From walking around Historic Fourth Ward Park to standing in lines at various tasting stations, you’ll be on your feet a lot. Wear breathable, lightweight clothes and opt for layers in case it gets cooler later in the day.

4. Choose Walking Shoes Over Style

Heels and dress shoes may look great, but your feet will thank you if you wear comfortable, broken-in sneakers or sandals. You’ll be strolling from station to station, so it’s best to prioritize comfort over style.

5. Pack Light but Smart

A small crossbody bag or backpack will come in handy for holding essentials like your phone, ID, sunscreen, and any souvenirs you pick up. Keep it light so you're free to enjoy the festival without being weighed down. For your safety, we have a security team checking ALL bags.

6. Plan for the Weather

September in Atlanta can be unpredictable, so keep an eye on the forecast. A light rain jacket or poncho might be a lifesaver if there’s a chance of showers. Weather umbrellas are permitted within the festival grounds.

7. Bring an Appetite

It's an all-you-can-eat-type of festival, so come ready to try new foods, flavors, and wines! But, make sure to pace yourself —there’s a lot to experience over the four days.

8. Charge Your Phone

You’ll want to capture all those Insta-worthy moments and keep your ticket info on hand, so make sure your phone is fully charged before heading out. A portable charger is always a good backup plan.

9. Pre-Plan Your Ride Home

If you’re planning on sampling the wine or cocktails, we recommend prearraning a safe ride home. Whether it's a rideshare service, public transportation, or a designated driver, plan ahead to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time. If you need help getting home, please don't hesitate to ask one of our event staffers to assist!

10. Know the Festival Map

We're excited to let you know we have an interactive map coming soon to help you navigate through all the flavors of the fest! Bookmark the festival map to familiarize yourself with where everything is. This can save time and help you prioritize which tents or events you want to visit first.

We hope you enjoyed our tips will help you maximize your experience at Atlanta Food & Wine Festival 2024! Ready to savor the South’s best culinary talent? Make sure you’re prepared, and we'll see you there!
